Office Movers: What Matters to You

When you partner with Amenity Moving as your office movers, we’ll start with a free in-person estimate based on a visual evaluation.

As you’re preparing for your move, we can also support you as advisers for its different phases. On moving day, because we’ve been helping you plan, we’ll be ready to get you into your new location with focus, precision and speed.

We further understand what you seek and expect from office movers in relocating your business. Whether you’re moving across town or to a different city, key attributes you want from an office-moving company include:

credibility with customers. While we’re glad to express the ways we can serve you, we also recognize that sometimes customers’ words can say even more.

responsive support. When you’re preparing for your office move, you want access to people who are attentive and knowledgeable – people you can reach on the phone when you need them and who will return your calls with a sense of interest and urgency.

proactive communication. You want to be contacted about any factors or updates that may pertain to your move. You don’t want to pursue that information hoping to find it.

license and insurance. To move your business correctly and legally, professional office movers will have the proper license and insurance for your services. This ensures your office-moving services meet established professional standards and protect your business from damage, theft or accidents.

transparent costs. You desire pricing that will not change on you when you don’t expect it. Professional office movers provide you with accurate estimates upfront and adjust costs only according to changes you might need to make or that you clearly understand.

skill with office equipment. Office movers should be adept with handling the wide range of items involved in the move, such as electronics and furniture, including large furniture. They should know how to properly disassemble and reassemble furniture, as well as rebuild partition walls if needed.

administration and organization. Qualified office movers are organized in knowing what is required to complete the move, such as using the right trucks and securing any necessary permits.

Office Movers: Furniture

Furniture is often among a business’s most valuable belongings. The last thing you want is for it to be damaged or mistreated by your office movers.

Some office-furniture moving companies will hire subcontractors or temporary workers for a job. With Amenity Moving, your furniture will be moved only by Amenity office movers who have been trained to transport it safely.

Our large, spacious trucks accommodate even oversized furniture while leaving sufficient room for your other belongings. Each Amenity truck also includes hundreds of furniture-moving pads for the greatest protection.

Once at your new location, we will carefully remove your furniture from our trucks and move it with our dollies. In addition, during both move-out and move-in, we will preserve your furniture and your office with runners that guard your floors from wear and tear.

We will place your furniture exactly where you want it at the new location as well.

Office Movers: Versatile Experience

Three brothers established our business in 1986 and started operating from a small warehouse in Naperville in 1987. In 1992, we moved to our current warehouse in Plainfield, where we have been serving the region as dedicated office movers ever since.

Amenity’s experience moving Chicagoland businesses ranges from smaller operations to large corporations. Our office moves also have varied from relocations in the same building to those in different cities, including throughout Illinois.

We have moved many different types of businesses, such as:

medical offices & centers (e.g. doctors, dentists, chiropractors), often with special-needs packing

banks & insurance companies (desks, files, chairs, safes, computers)

museums & art studios (special handling and packing, including art, statues, glass, marble porcelain, porcelain)

restaurants & pizza parlors (tables, chairs, ovens, stoves, refrigeration, coolers)

schools (desks, chairs, office furnishings, books, instruments, computers, gym equipment)

beauty & barber shops (special chairs, sinks)

warehouses (boxes, heavier equipment)

health clubs (weights, exercise equipment)

We take great pride in our punctuality as office movers as well. We are on time in serving you, and if unforeseen circumstances should ever interfere with that consistency, we will communicate to ensure your understanding.

Office Movers: Useful Tips

Amenity Moving is glad to serve you as more than efficient office movers – we support you with helpful knowledge and advice for a comfortable move that saves time, money and effort as well.

The following are some starting tips to consider for your office move. You’re also free to call us with questions anytime!

Plan well in advance – often 6 to 12 months before the moving date; involve your moving company early in the process as well.

Set your budget with factors such as packing supplies; new technology, furniture appliances and interior design; and any required cleaning at the new and former locations.

Know the new office’s floorplan and have a strategy for where items will go.

Create a production schedule with set deadlines for each moving task and phase.

Assign a move coordinator to manage the production schedule.

Develop an inventory with labeling that catalogues all office assets such as furniture, supplies and computers; the inventory can then be used to confirm all items have arrived at the new location. It also can be useful for insurance purposes.

Communicate with staff throughout the move; this will support their transition through change and keep them connected to the process.

Deep-clean and purge. A move is a great opportunity to declutter. Determine what will no longer serve the business in the new location. Donate, recycle or discard whatever is no longer useful or relevant. Not having to transport excess items also will contribute to an easier move.

Factor in security. This includes security for any sensitive data, files and equipment you are moving as well as system security at the new location, such as updated locks and access control.

Consider minor items you might move yourself (e.g. small plants you wish to keep).
